In my studies I have found that that one of the prerequisites to experiencing development at the degree of an intellectually and emotionally mature adult one must have at the innate level the ability to be able to possess empathy. It is compassion that regulates the sympathetic nervous system. I believe empathy is affect/feeling which is separate from emotion. The cognitive part of the brain and the emotion are intertwined yet in different areas of the brain and combined by circuitry that when developed thoroughly (i.e., maturity levels) the orbital frontal cortex (control center of brain of life) will be more active than the amygdala which is housed in another crucial area of the brain the limbic center. Point is alignment with self does not come about in a healthy way nor does development take place to achieve maturity without empathy compassion and moral reasoning skills. All these are crucial for seeking rational outcomes over negative emotional fear based aggressive responses to incoming environmental releasing stimuli so that social emotional learning can occur and take place in a manner that leads to thorough and healthy mental health development. The issues that arise in the human condition are not linear by any means, instead multiple causality and overlapping conditions that occur as positive and negative experiences over a persons lifetime.
Takes me to the next point of the importance of thorough and healthy development and thinking styles. Intuition is our greatest asset, our greatest blessing and is not a gift that all get to experience, and it is development, maturity, and emotional intelligence from a living a life that has a healthy interoceptive exteroceptive balance one integrated with empathy and compassion that allows for this healthy balance. Therefore, a person with balanced neurochemistry lacks internal conflicts and functions more as a whole which allows for more synapse to develop communicating in more parts of the brain so that intuition, top-down information processing can take place at the personal level (i.e., coping skills, core identity) so that a person can perform at a more efficient effective emotionally healthy level. Difference is a true vs. ideal self, genuine and authentic vs. a false sense of self.
Makes a difference in motivational styles that contrast one another for example internal vs. external locus of control and developing an identity that become durable and consistent over a lifetime rather than maladaptively functioning for years on end to the degree of heightened defense mechanisms (used to distort reality and stuck in pathology in the realm of evil and hatred without any way to work your way out of it.
just thinking at 3:43 on August the 15th ears ringing dried out hands still being hunted and hated rather than accepted as would be expected.
Have what Villanueva shared as concerns of a person coming in to take his position would act as a puppet, serve himself, and break the rights of citizens that is a practice against principles of democracy and an autocrat become a reality 1.5 years into serving his term? When a person acts in selfish ambitions, seeks external validation- ego which becomes inflated as the position of power increases surely is it always going to be acted through political violence towards others? Is the new status quo just a authoritarian dressed in sheep's clothing? The difference from when a person stays grounded controls stress well and has higher inhibition (i.e., connectivity) between these crucial brain networks is to function as a whole; higher intuition an ability to use life experiences through logic and reason that in alignment with their world view and life's purpose which is rewarding at the neuro level because internal locus of control (motivational style is self-reinforcing. Unlike the contrast external locus of control is not self-reinforcing which I will not go into detail except a person that lacks reward values and expectancy potentials of reinforcement (due to being disinhibited in between this circuitry) dopamine baselines are lower than that of the higher developed brain, instead thinking that is circular in reasoning driven by fear and anxiety because of a nervous system being in a stressed (sympathetic) state rather than that of its calm counterpart (parasympathetic) nervous system counterpart. I cannot overstate the need for thorough development enough. You see a compounded state in that of personality disorders cruelty, evil and just straight cold heartedness. One thing is do not discount the intellect because of a person that is disconnected and emotionally dysregulated because they can still have a very high IQ they may just use just it in a very manipulative, deceiving, hateful, angry, and pathological vindictive way. This is per Antonio Damasio who specializes in cases regarding behavior and this neuro-circuitry and Robert Sapolsky who specialized in behavioral neuroscience.
The difference is the volition behind it is not one of caring, gratitude or love instead one a anger, violence, and hatred. Really what I explained in another blog recently about the James lange theory of emotion in relation to the nervous system and emotions. When a person lacks moral development and is void of a moral conscience in how they live their life (i.e., moral rudder) then the person will experience a diffuse of responsibility in their life as well it is the number one attribute of lacking a moral conscience., and because of this they will not be true or honest with themselves nor others. Anyhow scares me because people like this have to be heard at an authoritarian level and they do not see people below them as people instead as social issues not as people but as social rewards things to be used for their own success. It is the thinking style now dichotomous black and white thinking limited no anticipated future without intuition or any kind of positivity. Instead, a very subjective opinion-based point of view that is negative, closed-minded, and very competitive. See's social hierarchies' ordinate vs. subordinate us against them by way of ego and selfish ambition who's next that I can manipulate, dehumanize and use for my own personal gain. An unhappy person that likes to beat people down that it becomes all about them or retribution a form of self-righteousness and constant need for ego- gratification based around all this.
World renowned family psychotherapist Salvador Minuchin said it is important not to confuse pathology for growing pains. when trying to understand the actions of others. When looking at the behaviors of others another contribution to this is Robert Sapolsky that said, "if you are going to judge a behavior you better know where it is coming from especially if you are going to judge it harshly". Categorical thinking places a boundary one that misses the complexities of the human condition, one that does not differentiate two different facts within a category because of the boundary, therefore, does not see the big picture. This is only one side of the coin. Simplifying a person to a social construct, a label, or a category is a generalization (i.e., confirmation bias, hindsight bias) is an injustice that often happens in circumstance's where people are short sighted due to burnout, greed, apathy and motivated by selfish ambitions (external locus of control). Then latch on to exclusionary way of thinking and practices that are often biased and become oppressive, inhumane and very extreme in nature. They say that if a subordinate challenges the status quo that this instigates violence and hatred at the highest level. I have experienced this for decades why is this? I am sure Herbert Kelman explains how this all unfolds in his Crimes of Obedience book in his description of the Rules/ compliance orientated person. On page 29 when he discusses immoral policies mundane as well as ideological where high level functionaries in government or politics might go along with illegal or immoral policies. Well, I think the previous paragraphs explain this. The sad part is when labeled wrongly and you get bullied and beat up when trying to live your best life that is true to your goal and dreams but because of being labeled that it challenges the status quo therefore bringing out the ugly nature of this beast. Idealism is a narcotic just like heroin and alcohol. You see this with the idealism in the middle east woman and burkas and social control by oppressive people with some agenda that they base their life around. The woman wants to remove the Burka and live her best life while others in their own craziness will sometimes even kill due to their own crazy closed-minded absurdness. Normal people without extreme views and visions just have to sit back as their hearts break because they know that it is just not right and that it is unfair. It is the morally engaged that develop their cognitive and emotional abilities that have intuition, empathy and faith leading them on the path of human dignity which is healing, rewarding, and accepting not because it suits you but because you and me we are all human and must be treated as such.
This page could go on forever, authority does have the power to command others yet does authority becomes illegitimate when they use their power to manipulate a person by clearly dehumanizing the genuine purpose of a person by coloring every area of the individual's life in a way that it serves their own greedy biased and selfish intentions. An individual that acts in a position of authority that violates procedural rules in the domain of an organization by taking matters into their own hand " well because this is the way it should or has to be" is one thing to be concerned about no doubt. It is the violating of character ethic of integrity of a representative model that is concerning because when trusted to act behind the scenes on your honor it represents all not the us against them or our group against yours. When an individual that holds a professional responsibility acts in a collective effort with and against others in an unethical way by treating people inhumane and violating persons' civil, human, and constitutional rights this is a real problem. Is there a limit to coercion or can one distinguish procedure or substansive standards for assessing legitimacy at these levels by assessing the line they draw (if any at all) in the behavior or coercive tactics they take towards others in the effort to understand the reality of their reasons upon doing so by assessing the level of extremes in which they take towards others? The goal of trying to cause as little harm as possible becomes obliterated when it seems the more, we can kick ass and get away with without getting caught is the reality underneath it all. Goes back to being detached or out of ones head immoral and how a person has adapted to their environment in homeostasis or stasis. Is mental health really the assessment that needs to be looked at when others cross the line and cannot refrain from doing so? For me when I take a beating yet continually try to bring about an introduction to new ideological framework presented as a revival of an old framework unfortunately you must challenge the legitimacy of the established order. If the collective is place and time variables for example, the difference of leadership styles, personalities mental health that all have to do with how one place functions and the organization functions, then their is no question that clinical judgement must be the assessment taken to keep functionality at the organizational by the substansive efforts to keep our leaders mental health at approriate levels and the standards at the micro and macro level will follow. What is at stake? people have been what is at stake in history and today is no different it is the biological footprint we leave behind that is becoming high stressed and compromised a well. We owe it to mankind. I will probably be seen as a threat and die for this as well, remember it is the authoritarian who see's threat and is compelled to silence everything my take they are the real threat and authoritarian extremism is the biggest threat to democracy. All evil begins minute, but does not make it right, because like all evil once it becomes prevalent it often does not revert its course, instead it spreads and becomes worse. Like Alexis De Tocqueville feared the biggest threat to democracy is a mass society of mutually antagonistic men, easy prey to despotism, Life is short hold yourself together. this is why I am engaged with the study of human consciousness and how we become wired to behave at our best or our worst the science is a valuable asset, and it is real ,yet resides in each and everyone of us in the choices that we make each and every day in how we chose to react and behave. I am fed up with it and concerned of the destructive nature of these practices and negative forces that brings out the worst and not the best in others. I challenge you to look within and expect something better of yourself to become something much bigger and much stronger.
